By joining the Historic Downtown Program, local businesses receive many benefits.
Secretarial services include the use of a fax machine, plus use of a copy machine with 100 black and white copies or 25 colored copies a month. If you do not have a printer available you can email a document to us to print. A NEW service this year will be the custom creation of brochures and flyers. Just give the office your specific information and you will have a new way to promote and market your business.
To be successful in a small town, you need to work as a team with the other businesses. As a member, you will be invited to cook outs, workshops, and meetings, which will give you the opportunity to build business relationships with your fellow business people. As an individual who cares about our city being a member will give you the opportunity to share your concerns and ideas with many volunteer possibilities. You can volunteer for the following committees: Organization (program infrastructure, selection and recruitment of officers and more volunteers), Promotions (help develop incentives to increase sales and traffic to our city), Economic Restructuring (help with business development, incentives and retention), and Design (preservation, beautification, parking, safety and image perception).
The Historic Downtown Website provides businesses with several benefits. As a member, you will be given a link from our website to your website. If you do not have a website, but can provide us with a list of your services a link will be provided to a page containing your information. A local restaurant page will be created this year, which will have business hours and menu items available for the ‘Internet Explorers’ to review. All services are free for members.
The Historic Downtown Program has a ‘group’ with over 250 members on Facebook. If you would like to promote a specific event, you can give the office the information. Then a personal invitation will go out to all the Facebook members.
As a member, you will be able to get 10% off of the rental fees for Heritage Hall. All Heritage Hall information can be found at www.enjoyrisingsundowntown.com. You can even print a rental agreement and fill it out before coming to the office.
The Board meets every 4th Tuesday for lunch at noon in Heritage Hall. As a member you are more then welcome to come to our meetings. This is a great way to learn more and stay involved.
